A chemical spill at a Manchester imaging facility sent 10 people, including two pregnant women, to the hospital Friday morning.
Manchester police chief Lisa Parker said an employee of the imaging center had been in direct contact with a chemical solution while carrying the leaky container from one part of the building to another. The employee was treated at the scene and transported to Community Medical Center, Parker said.
The Berkeley Hazardous Materials Response Unit secured the chemical and the Stafford Township Fire Department's DeCon Unit was dispatched to the facility and the Point Pleasant Fire Department went to Community Medical Centerto help decontaminate the responders and the patients exposed to the chemical, Della Fave said.
The chemical is used to test the MRI machine monthly.
